Terri DeBoer has entered the race as the first major Republican challenger to Democrat Hillary Scholten in Michigan’s 3rd District. The seat is still described as Solid D, but the GOP field is starting to take shape. Separately, the SAVE Act debate is drawing attention over possible voter registration impacts. DeBoer’s entry gives Republicans a more notable challenger, but the seat still appears to lean Democratic. The SAVE Act debate adds some uncertainty, though its direct effect on the race is unclear.
