Republican Party's odds are now 55%, past the previous low of 71%.
The Alaska governor race is now up to 17 candidates after nonpartisan community organizer Meda DeWitt announced a run. The field remains dominated by Republicans (12), with three Democrats and several nonpartisan/independent candidates. Campaigns have raised over $4.3 million so far, and Gov. Mike Dunleavy is not seeking reelection due to term limits. A growing, crowded field—especially with many Republicans—could increase uncertainty about which party ultimately wins. Heavy fundraising and self-funding may also add volatility as candidates’ resources shift.
