Supports substantial tax increases on the very wealthy while cutting taxes for low- and middle-income households; proposes an annual wealth tax on households over $50 million and a billionaire surcharge, paired with a plan to lower federal income taxes to 1% on the first $50,000 of earnings. Positions this revenue as funding expanded government programs and affordability measures.

Emphasizes protecting rural hospitals and expanding access to maternal and mental health care.
Supports a pathway to earned citizenship, opposes indiscriminate mass deportation and unlawful immigration arrests, and calls for protections for asylum and immigrant workers while also advocating pairing smart border security with comprehensive reform.
Supports restoring and protecting abortion rights nationwide, including codifying Roe v. Wade into federal law, restoring and increasing funding for Planned Parenthood, and ensuring access to reproductive healthcare for women across Maine and the country.
Supports strengthening the Environmental Protection Agency, protecting land, water, and forests from corporate polluters, opposing drilling and development on public lands, and making renewable energy and energy-efficiency measures (e.g., heat pump incentives) more affordable for Mainers. Emphasizes working with Maine fishing and farming communities to address climate impacts while avoiding unnecessary burdens on their work.
Supports universal background checks, a federal assault weapons ban, investments in mental health, and stronger school safety measures while respecting responsible gun ownership and hunting traditions.
Jordan Wood, a Democratic congressional candidate in Maine, said he will no longer accept Rep. Eric Swalwell’s endorsement after sexual assault and misconduct allegations against Swalwell were reported. Wood said he will donate Swalwell’s campaign contribution to a local food bank. Wood has also been quoted in coverage about The Maine Wire’s expanding, donor-backed reporting on Maine’s Somali community and its role in amplifying fraud allegations.
