Micah Lasher has been directly involved in drafting and advocating for New York’s post-Buffalo and Uvalde gun safety legislation and has served on the board of Everytown, a national gun safety organization. His campaign materials describe his role in writing “sweeping gun safety laws” and emphasize strengthening gun-safety protections.
Micah Lasher has picked up a major boost in the NY-12 Democratic primary, winning an endorsement from retiring Rep. Jerry Nadler, who called him the best choice to carry on his progressive legacy. Lasher is also one of the candidates highlighted as having significant endorsements in the crowded race to replace Nadler, alongside contenders like Jack Schlossberg and Alex Bores. He is expected to appear at a local Democratic candidate forum as voters begin comparing the large field.
