She also served in the Wisconsin State Assembly (2011–2020) and won election to the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 2026, with the term scheduled to begin August 1, 2026.

Chris Taylor is running as the liberal candidate in Wisconsin’s April 7, 2026 Supreme Court election against conservative Judge Maria Lazar, with polls showing most voters still undecided. A recent Marquette Law School poll puts Taylor ahead by about 5 points, but roughly two-thirds of voters say they have not made up their minds. Taylor has also aired the first TV ad of the race and has a large fundraising advantage over Lazar. The outcome could expand the court’s current 4-3 liberal majority to 5-2 if Taylor wins.
