Immigration & Border
Supports stronger border security and increased resources for Border Patrol, opposes sanctuary-city policies and amnesty for those who entered the country illegally, and links illegal immigration to drug and public-safety concerns.
Abortion & Reproductive Rights
The candidate has publicly said he will oppose a federal/nationwide abortion ban and has sponsored legislation to protect IVF access and opposed measures to restrict mifepristone, while opponents and some voting records/press coverage report he has supported or voted for measures that would restrict abortion access (including amendments affecting service members). These statements and votes present conflicting signals on his overall position.
Climate & Energy
Supports an "all-of-the-above" energy strategy prioritizing U.S. energy independence and use of domestic natural resources and innovation, and has opposed major Democratic climate legislation such as the Inflation Reduction Act. Has expressed opposition to large-scale offshore wind projects in his district while stating support for some wind power in general.
Public Safety & Guns
He emphasizes targeting illegal firearms and law enforcement responses to gun violence while opposing laws that would limit legally owned firearms. His campaign and public statements prioritize arrests of those carrying illegal guns and bipartisan solutions to keep guns out of the wrong hands rather than new broad restrictions on lawful gun owners.
News
A New York assemblyman reintroduced a bill that would restrict prediction markets, barring bets on individual sports matches, war, and more.
